Solve : copying files to cd on vista and nothing happens......?? |
| Answer» <html><body><p>hi all.<br/><br/>Wonder if anyone can help me... i'm sire its real simple.....<br/><br/>I have vista, and i am just trying to copy a few folders ( all in My Pictures) to <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/cd-236847" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about CD">CD</a>, but no matter what i do nothing <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/happensbrbr-2691586" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about HAPPENS">HAPPENS</a>...... <br/><br/>any ideas why this maybe?<br/><br/>THankign you for any help in advice.......How are you trying to copy the files?<br/><br/>You should be able to right click on a file or folder and select "Send To"...then choose your CD burner.<br/><br/>Once you have everything selected and waiting to be <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/copied-2017628" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about COPIED">COPIED</a> to the burner...you should see an icon on the taskbar stating you have files ready to be written to your drive.<br/><br/>Simply click that icon and a window should open. As long as you have a blank CD in the drive, you should be able to copy the files to the CD.<br/><br/>Are you doing it a different way?hi saviour,<br/><br/><br/>I know this is going to sound pitifully ignorant, but i dont know if there is cd burner on thi slaptop, its not mine. <br/><br/>what i have eebn trying to do is go to pic or folder, right click on it, then i choose ' send to' then i just choose the dvd rive option.... then nothing.,...<br/><br/>Am i missing steps? ot just doing it completely wrong? <br/><br/>Many thanksClick Start/Control Panel/System/Hardware Tab/Device Manager button<br/><br/>You should see a list of hardware with "+" signs next to them.<br/><br/>Click the "+" sign next to DVD/CD Rom Drives to expand the list.<br/><br/>Post back with what it says in that list, please,You're half-way there. You MUST have a cd burner or you CAN'T burn CD's. Right click My Computer/ choose Manage / choose Device Manager. On the right look for cdrom/DVD drives / click the "+" sign. I don't believe copying files or folders to a DVD R/W drive by using the "Send to" feature can be used in Vista...<br/><br/>I know you can't do it using Windows XP, either. Now...if you had a CD R/W drive...then you'd be able to.<br/><br/>Do you have any type of software installed on your computer that allows you to copy DVDs? If so...you may be able to use this software to copy the data you want to the DVD burner.ooops!<br/><br/>AS i say, no thining installed like that. cause i just used a friends laptop, this one to temp store these few files.<br/><br/>So, no easy way to transfer them to to cd to move to my own laptop?
