| Answer» <html><body><p>hello,<br/><br/>My computer broke a long time ago, we had to unplug it because we were moving it, when we plugged it back in the computer just makes 2 beeps then come up with a black screen saying:<br/><br/>"windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:<br/>system32\drivers\pci.sys<br/><br/>You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup using the original setup CD-ROM<br/>select 'r' at the first screen to start repair"<br/><br/>I don't have the original windows CD or any Driver cd's<br/><br/>I've had a look on ebay and seen various CD's which say that they can fix problems. Can someone please point out a CD that will fix my problem.<br/><br/>thanks<br/>You don't have to have the original CD......you can beg / borrow from friend or family to get around the CD problem (you use your own OEM serial number).....as long as the have the same <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/version-1444891" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about VERSION">VERSION</a> as your (XP Home or Pro, which ever you have)<br/><br/>Here is work around sujggested by Microsoft:<br/><a href="https://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;319136">http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;319136</a><br/><br/><br/>CheersI don't have anyone to borrow it off, and i don't know what my serial number is. Is there a disk i can buy that will sort out the problem. There were ones on ebay going for £3 saying they could fix problems.
