Solve : dvd/ram gh70n sata drive?

I have recently removed a malware virus(about 8 weeks ago), I first thought that it messed up my registry, then I thought  it was a software issue, and have contacted Microsoft and tried there SFC/SCANNOW it found nothing, this problem only occurs when I try to activate my DVD/RAM, I guess my question is, is the DVD/RAM not functioning properly and causing the Windows hanging up or not responding or is Windows explorer causing the problem by not recognizing the DVD/RAM.</p></body></html>
