Now restart the computer and type the new password and no need to reinstall the operating system

If u r using Win Vista then u have to reinstall the operating system.

Regrads
Siva
Siva read the OP's post. He can't remember the admin password so how is he going to log in with it?

Here is something you can try if you're feeling a bit adventurous. I've not tried it myself so use it at your own risk.
http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/

Or try this: (again at own risk)
http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=305

Else you're probably looking at a reinstall.Deerpark When u r going to enter the safe mode the admin password is not essential to enter just try and then reply me.

Regards
SivaMy reply to your PM worldvoice.
Quote

Yes you do need to enter the admin password to login as administrator in safe mode. If you're not getting asked a password when logging in this means you haven't set a password for your admin account.
Which OS are you using?

Is there another account you can use to change the admin password?im using win xp i thik home im not sure about that part though, there is one other account on there but its not adminJust to clarify things...

It doesn't have to be the Administrator account specifically, just a member of the Administrators group.no i mean the account doesnt have admin privilages.I'd use Deerpark's first method then, I've used bootdisks before on other people's machines. So how can I do it if I do have admin priviliges then because I think I remember it now but I need to change the admin pass back incase i forget again
