Solve : Friend's computer is in endless reboot cycle? |
Answer» <html><body><p>He is running Vista home premium. It tries to install an update when it is turning on, and it reboots itself. We've tried all the <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/options-238333" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about OPTIONS">OPTIONS</a> from the boot menu. Same thing. Google turns up people with the problem, but no <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/fixes-8499717" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about FIXES">FIXES</a>. Boot to safe <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/mode-239384" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about MODE">MODE</a> and remove the last 2 or 3 updates.<br/><br/>Turn off auto updates <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/temporarily-1241326" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about TEMPORARILY">TEMPORARILY</a> and DLoad and update them manually/<br/>See if this helps.<br/><br/>P.S. Does he have the latest <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/ver-1734849" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about VER">VER</a>. of Office on that machine ? ? Quote</p><blockquote>It tries to install an update</blockquote> Does it say what update?I don't know if it says what update because I haven't actually seen it. Safe mode doesn't work, it does the same thing.Never mind, he fixed it. Apparently if you hit F11 it goes right to system restore.Good going</body></html> | |
