National Integration and the Youth

India is a large country. We follow different religious and speak different languages. People often fight among themselves in the name of religion, region, or language. The pre-independence dragon of communalism is still alive. People with vested interest provoke riots. Even a petty clash is given a communal colour. Our political leaders are also responsible for all this. During elections they exploit the sentiments of region, religion, community and caste. The result is that we are not yet fully integrated as a nation.

We have the National Integration council to promote the cause of National Integration. Representative of various political parties meet together and adopt unanimous resoultions. But we are still far from our long cherished goal.

We cannot get rid of these factions until and unless our youths come forward. Most of them are above communal frenzy and regional feelings. They do not have vested interests. They are true nationalists. They can do a lot to promote National Integration. They should start a campaign against these evils. They can achieve the goal only if they are determined to do so.

राष्ट्रीय एकता और युवा वर्ग

भारत एक विशाल देश है। हम भिन्न-भिन्न धर्मों को मानते हैं और भिन्न भाषाएँ बोलते हैं। लोग धर्म, क्षेत्र अथवा भाषा के नाम पर प्रायः आपस में लड़ते रहते हैं। स्वतंत्रता से पूर्व का साम्प्रदायिकता का अजगर अभी जीवित है। निहित स्वार्थ वाले लोग दंगों को भड़काते हैं। एक छोटे से झगड़े को भी साम्प्रदायिकता का रंग दिया जाता है। इस सबके लिए हमारे राजनीतिक नेता भी उत्तरदायी हैं। चुनाव के समय वे लोगों की क्षेत्रीय, धार्मिक, जातीय और वर्ग भावनाओं का अनुचित लाभ उठाते हैं। परिणाम यह है कि हम अभी भी पूर्ण रूप से संगठित राष्ट्र नहीं हैं।

राष्ट्रीय एकता को बढ़ावा देने के लिए राष्ट्रीय एकता परिषद् (कौंसिल) है। भिन्न-भिन्न राजनैतिक दलों के प्रतिनिधि मिलते हैं और सर्वसम्मत प्रस्ताव पारित करते हैं। परन्तु अभी भी अपने लक्ष्य से दूर हैं।

हम इन गुटों से छुटकारा नहीं पा सकते जब तक कि हमारे युवक आगे नहीं आयेंगे। उनमें से अधिकांश साम्प्रदायिक उन्माद और क्षेत्रीय भावनों से ऊपर (ऊँचे) उठे हुए हैं। उनके निहित स्वार्थ भी नहीं हैं। वे राष्ट्रवादी हैं। वे राष्ट्रीय एकता को बढ़ाने में बहुत कुछ कर सकते हैं। उनको इन बुराइयों के खिलाफ अभियान चलाना चाहिए। वे यह लक्ष्य प्राप्त कर सकते हैं यदि वे ऐसा करने के लिए कृत संकल्प हैं।
