Choice of Profession

A life without an aim is like a ship without a rudder or an engine without fuel. We must therefore have some definite aim in life.

The right choice of a profession is very difficult to make, but necessary. Every profession cannot suit everybody. So while choosing a profession, we should keep in mind the natural taste, physical fitness, opinion and guidance of teachers, elders and parents, economic condition of the family and the future prospects in the profession.

Keeping in mind the factors for right choice, I wish to be a doctor. In this profession, there is a great opportunity for service. Secondly, this profession is an independent one. A doctor gives his time, energy and skill in curing the sick. From the very beginning, I have dreamed of serving the poor of my town. I want to be an ideal doctor. Kindness will be my motto. I shall give free treatment to the patients who are poor and needy.

It is not for high status that I wish to become a doctor. It is something nobler than this. It is my wish to serve humanity. I am sure of being a successful doctor. Sincerity and devotion will be my guiding factors. May God fulfil my aspirations!

व्यवसाय का चयन

एक उद्देश्यहीन जीवन पतवार के बिना जहाज अथवा ईधन के बिना इंजन के समान है। इसलिए हमारे जीवन में एक निश्चित उद्देश्य अवश्य होना चाहिए।

व्यवसाय का उचित चयन करना अति आवश्यक है। प्रत्येक व्यवसाय प्रत्येक व्यक्ति के लिए उपयुक्त नहीं हो सकता है। इसलिए व्यवसाय का चयन करते समय हमें अपनी स्वाभाविक रुचि; शारीरिक योग्यता; अध्यापकों, बड़ों व माता-पिता के विचार व दिशानिर्देश; परिवार की आर्थिक स्थिति और उस व्यवसाय के भविष्य के पक्षों को ध्यान में रखना चाहिए।

सही चयन के पक्षों को ध्यान में रखते हुए मैं एक डॉक्टर बनना चाहता हूँ। इस व्यवसाय में सेवा के लिये पर्याप्त अवसर हैं। दूसरी बात, इस व्यवसाय में स्वतन्त्रता है। एक डॉक्टर बीमारों को ठीक करने के लिए अपना समय, शक्ति व योग्यता प्रदान करता है। बहुत आरम्भ से ही मैंने अपने कस्बे के गरीबों की सेवा करने का सपना देखा है। मैं एक आदर्श डॉक्टर बनना चाहता हूँ। दयालुता मेरा आदर्श होगा। मैं गरीब व जरूरतमंद मरीजों को निःशुल्क उपचार दूंगा।

मैं (समाज में) ऊँचा स्थान पाने के लिए डॉक्टर बनना नहीं चाहता हूँ। मेरे इस चयन का कारण इससे कहीं अधिक श्रेष्ठ है। मानवता की सेवा करना मेरी कामना है। मुझे पूरा विश्वास है कि मैं एक सफल डॉक्टर बनूंगा। ईमानदारी व समर्पण मेरे पथ-प्रदर्शक होंगे। ईश्वर मेरी इच्छाओं को पूरा करे !
