Answer»

I NEED to copy my programs off my comp on to a cd so i can restart my windows xp due to a message coming up saying i might be a victim of software counterfeiting. Is there away off copying my programs so i can put them back on to my comp when i rebooted xp?No.
You need the original installation disks to re-install any programs for them to work.
You cannot simply copy a program and reinstall it ....it won't run.Quote

due to a message coming up saying i might be a victim of software counterfeiting
Don't download illegal copies of legit programs. Not all programs need to be installed off of a cd to work properly, some of them can indeed simply be copied. I couldn't tell you which ones will do what, though.

The messager you're getting is because Microsoft doesn't think you purchased your copy of Windows. If you didn't, shame, shame. If you did, call Microsoft and they'll get it straightened out.Quote
Not all programs need to be installed off of a cd to work properly, some of them can indeed simply be copied. I did this intially to simply keep from losing things like my movies and mp3s, but soon found out that a great majority of the programs I use didn't have to be reinstalled to run. Photoshop, Reason, MS Money, Quake 3, Quake 4, Doom 3, Halo, the Need for SPEED series, and so on ran just fine, and have continued to do so through several other OS wipes. It's definately a timesaver, but it doesn't work with EVERY program I use. FruityLoops and Maya for whatever reason want to be reinstalled. I'm just saying, it could potentially save some time to archive it like he's thinking to do.Also, back on topic, when you reinstall Windows, you're going to get that message again. Unless you get it straightened out with Microsoft, or ACTUALLY purchase a legal copy.Just so i understand...
You have Vista on C: and most of your data and large apps on another drive/partition let's call it D: for simplicity...
You wipe C: and reinstall Vista and all those apps run ? ? ?Quote from: mohkiller on December 08, 2007, 06:37:57 AM
reply to this message:
Don't download illegal copies of legit programs.

euhm lol, you know a quarter of peaple that have windows xp is illigal, the rest like got it by buying a new pc

Well, you can't complain that an illegal copy of a program isn't working or is getting crippled by Microsoft. Serves you right.

Solution to your problem: Buy a legal copy.

No one here will render assistance to you for an illegal copy of Windows.well... o would if i knew whats wrong;)
still your right-o-
illigal is fine for me but it can work *censored* Quote from: mohkiller on December 08, 2007, 11:04:08 AM
well... o would if i knew whats wrong;)
still your right-o-
illigal is fine for me but it can work s***ty

Sorry to say, illegal is not fine for this forum, regardless of what you personally think is ok.Quote from: quaxo on December 08, 2007, 12:27:33 PM
Quote from: mohkiller on December 08, 2007, 11:04:08 AM
well... o would if i knew whats wrong;)
still your right-o-
illigal is fine for me but it can work s***ty

Sorry to say, illegal is not fine for this forum, regardless of what you personally think is ok.

dont have anything illigal yust said it was fine by me dont care for ppl... so
