Solve : How do i get vista off my sata drive?? |
Answer» <html><body><p>I have an Acer Aspire 5315-2290 Laptop with the following specs.:<br/><br/>CPU: Celeron 550 (2.0 GHz/1m)<br/>LCD: 15.4 wxga Acer Crystalbrite<br/>Memory: 1024 MB DDR2<br/>HDD: 120 GB<br/>Optical Drive: DVD super Multi Double layer<br/>Modem: 56K<br/>Lan: 10/100<br/>Wireless Lan: 802.11b/g<br/><br/>OS: Windows Vista Home Premium SP1<br/>WWAN: No<br/><br/>The machine has a SATA <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/hard-1015537" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about HARD">HARD</a> disk, how do i get Vista off so i can install XP<br/><br/>Pleeeeeeeese <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/help-239643" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about HELP">HELP</a>, I have no purpose for Vista.get the xp cd put it in and boot from it make shure to delete the partition follow these steps <a href="https://www.techspot.com/vb/topic53502.html">http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic53502.html</a>I boot from the xp cd and follow the usual steps but before i get to the part where your given the option to delete the partition the computer displays a message saying (not the exact same <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/words-25841" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about WORDS">WORDS</a>) no hard drive detected.<br/><br/>My guess is that the xp cd was designed to work with ide drives and the laptop has a sata drive so that may be why i get the error mesage.Strongly suggest that you make sure that you have all of the <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/necessary-1112675" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about NECESSARY">NECESSARY</a> drivers for XP before removing Vista.<br/><br/>Good Luck!Not true I have a gaming pc that uses such drives an have xp installed on to it. what you probably need to do is disconnect an reconnect the drives. They dont pay me enough to do this stuff.
