Solve : I Have Another Problem with my computer?

Answer»

alright this is my last time using my old computer. it is a HP Pavillion 513n running WINDOWS XP SP3. it did have a verry verry VERRY bad virus problem but i was using it perfectally before it shut down. here is the story of what happened. i just got a new laptop and i wanted to transfer my music and other crap from my old one to my new one. it always acts wierd i dont have time to explain what i mean by that. but i was starting to transfer files when i noticed that i needed my keyboard, so as i stood up to plug it in i tripped over the power cable and accidentally unplugged it from the wall. i did not have the keyboard plugged in cause my computer wont startup with one plugged in. but now it wont startup at all. i try to turn it on and it boots to the page that says boot in safe mode, boot normally etc. i have selected every option and it starts to load up and then just restarts itself. i disabled auto restart and it came to a blue page that says "a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer."
then it says "PROCESS_INITIALIZATION_FAILED" at the bottom it says " Techinical information" "*** Stop: 0x0000006B (0xc000009c, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)" it tells me to boot it in safe mode but i cant. i NEED those files on my computer. please help me thanks. i will do ANYTHING to try and get those files. i have VERRY important documents that i need.it actuallysays "PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED" i forgot the "1" after process in my first post.Having Googled that particular Stop error, most hits refer to a corrupt hard drive.

While you may find hits regarding certain software as being the culprit...it always points back to the hard drive.

Your best bet may be to repair or try to recover your Windows operating system, but there's no guarantee that either will work.

You also may want to note...there is no guarantee your DATA will be recoverable. However, there is the chance you can fix this.

First off...you may want to take a look at the following Knowledge Base article from Microsoft:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314058

is there any other way i can do it that will garuntee me not losing filesWindows XP System Recovery should allow you to fix the boot sector of the drive...which, in fact, may be the culprit here...and your data should remain safe.

However...let it be known...that I, for one, cannot make you any promises. I can only point you in the right direction.

You do have the option of data recovery specialists...but that would be my last resort...since they are expensive.

Your best bet would be to try and repair the corrupt MBR (Master Boot Record).i dont have a Windows Setup floppy disks or the Windows CD-ROM I have a idea. this is not losing files

You can go and buy or borrow a hard disk box fit for you disk drive of the old one.the hard disk box can enable you to access to hard disk drive by usb,and use the old hard disk dirve just like a "big" flash disk.

oh, I got another way .
I call this Plan B,the previous it PLAN A.
you can borrow a install disk of windows XP or win2k ,
use the disk to install system, before the setup program copy file to hard disk, you should choose another logical drive (not any one of your systems install on your current system, I assume that you might install more than one system on your computer) .After rightly installing the new system, you can copy files or any other THING your want .If you can't intall the system try PLAN A !

good luck, buddy.i cant get a disc it that hard disk box thing my only hope? how MUCH do they cost? where can i buy one, can i get it at a store like Circuit city? and are there any other ways?can you start the machine in safe mode?

Quote from: Sean0514 on August 22, 2008, 11:05:09 AM

how much do they cost? where can i buy one, can i get it at a store like Circuit city?
