Solve : Issue with Windows sign in? |
Answer»

Hello All,
Not sure if this is the right folder to post but will start here...... A friend of mine is having a issue with Windows Sign In when she starts the computer.. it is a laptop with Windows Vista... a friend of hers ESTABLISHED the settings for signing in and she has forgotten the password.. I am researching what I can here to see if there is a way to get around the sign in process to establish NEW settings, etc.. she really doesn't need a password to access as there is no one else around to access her computer...
Would appreciate any suggestions that any of you may have to deal with the issue...
Thanks in advance,
Larryhttp://www.google.com/search?hl=&q=forgot+password+windows+vista&sourceid=navclient-ff&rlz=1B3GGGL_enUS312US316&ie=UTF-8&aq=2&oq=forgot+password+Ok, thank you for the link, was using Google myself.. two questions.. a number of sites were suggesting/recommending Ophcrack..is the software any good??.

Second question, trying to keep it a simple as possible, found one site that suggested; Starting up computer and before boot window opens, tap F8, then when the window appears use Safe Mode, and then log in (supposedly without needing a password) and then go to START, CONTROL PANEL, User Accounts and do what changing needs to be done (KEEPING it brief..smile).. have done the part from START before but not dealing with the issue of not being able to log into Windows (just changing things) and was using Windows XP, not Vista...will this WORK with the problem my friend has??

Again, thanks for you QUICK reply and help..
LarryCH000172 - Lost or forgotten Windows password.

| |
