Solve : locked out of Vista Home?

Without going into the numerable problems with this memory hog OS--the latest problem I've encountered is that Vista will not recognize my password. Microsoft just wants to shuffle the prob back to Acer. Can anyone help me get back into my computer? Every new machine comes with a licensed OS CD.
