Solve : Missing Ram, running Vista?

When i got this laptop it came with 1Gig of Ram. But it's only registering 502megs of it now. I think this may have caused my computer to slow down drastically, since i was told by other people that im crazy for running Windows Vista with only 502Megs of Ram. I have just recently Reformatted (my drivers failed and it <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/took-3223163" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about TOOK">TOOK</a> a few tries to get windows to actually load completely) and done a few steps to remove some harmful things from my computer (i found a trojan which is removed now).
