Solve : MS Paint on a network? |
| Answer» <html><body><p>I have installed WinXP Pro on a Windows AD 2000 network of 14 workstations. Users have been set up with My Documents redirected using a GPO to their own space on the server.<br/><br/>MS Paint ignores the redirection and insists on looking at the local drive as a default for saves.<br/><br/>Anyone know a work around for this?mspaint automatically defaults to "My Pictures" on my system. Is this Win XP Pro SP2? Fully up to date system? Do the "My Pictures" folders exist for the users? If not, mspaint probably looks in whatever directory it was told to start up in. In the latter case you can change the shortcut-->"start in" accordingly. Thanks<br/><br/>You are, of course, correct. I was being lazy. It actually defaults to the My Pictures folder under Documents and Settings\My Documents on the local hard drive. Yes, using Pro SP2. Yes, all have a consistent drive letter. All I need to do is edit the icon on the shared desktop! I'll give that a try.
