Solve : my computer will not open windows....please help!!!? |
Answer»

I use windows Vista....recently I INSTALLED an original program into the computer.....and the computer can not open windows anymore......the diagnosis tells me the system has shut down the windows to protect my computer from damages which may be caused by the installation of a new software or a hardware. To correct the problem, it tells me to open the windows first and then change the settings...that is IMPOSSIBLE for me.......please help.... What was the program?

Do you have the Windows Vista DVD?

Do you happen to have another computer or have access to another computer?
(last resort which we might not use but it will be
good to know its there until we get the problem solved.)no....i have neither the windows vista DVD nor another computer....but I think I can get the DVD.....what can i do next? Quote
recently I installed an original program into the computer
What was the program?the program is EMULE....a program to download movies,mp3,videos,etc...from the internet.....it's a PART of www.gamesdownloadcity.com Quote from: tashi on August 12, 2008, 09:22:15 AM
the program is EMULE....a program to download movies,mp3,videos,etc...from the internet.....it's a part of www.gamesdownloadcity.com

Hmmm......It sounds illegal..........and illegal things are sometimes schemes to get money....

Can you boot Vista in Safe Mode at all?no....can't do anything....not even in safe mode....can not open any windows at all.... ..and ya...i purchased the program from the website itself...This is going to be hard to fix without access to another computer and without the Vista CD...

Can you borrow one by any chance?I can get the Vista CD.....then shall I follow the instructions in the CD or do u have any special instructions to follow?....

OR ...I do have access to another computer (not mine)....what can I do?...

eMule is not illegal. It's P2P program, but...
Why did you PAY, since it's a free program?
Windows shut down right after installation, or you downloaded something using that program?
When you try to start your computer, how far does it go?i am not sure if the problem was due to this emule program but I did download some movies and then there was this problem.....this was the only new program I installed in my computer....

...when I start the computer.....there appears a blue screen with something like "windows system error"...and it tells me to start window to correct the problem when I can not open the window in the first place...not even in the safe mode ....so I am struck here.....WANT to format new but don't wanna lose my data....helpJust a thought: you may have downloaded a virus. Most likely.

If you don't have Vista DVD....

Download Vista Recovery Disc iso image: http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/
Burn it to CD, or DVD: http://neosmart.net/wiki/display/G/Burning+ISO+Images+to+a+CD+or+DVD
Boot from created disk.
At first screen click on Repair your computer:

This will bring you to a new screen where the repair process will look for all Windows Vista installations on your computer. When done you will be presented with the System Recovery Options dialog box:

After this, it will present you with a list of options including startup repair, system restore and command prompt:

Try System Restore, first.
If that doesn't work, try Startup Repair.
thanks Broni and Carbon...I will try Broni's last ADVICE....and I will let you know if it works or not..........

| |
