Solve : need help with windows 2000 professional? |
| Answer» <html><body><p>OK, I don't know if you can help me or not, but i sure could use help. I will try to give all imformation needed, please bear with me as i am knew to the computer world.<br/>I bought a <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/used-763273" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about USED">USED</a> note book of line, for my son.<br/>Model Gateway 600YGR<br/>Mobile intel <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/pentium-598287" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about PENTIUM">PENTIUM</a> 4-1.7 GHz<br/>hard drive 20 GB<br/>mem. ram 512 MB<br/>windows 2000 professional<br/>CD-RW/DVD combo<br/>I used windows updates to update the notebook as best i could. My son was useing it just fine, then when he was useing windows media player to copy some CD's, he said that the not book shut down due to and error. Now when I turn it on it starts to do just fine then it stops on a blue screen and reads STOP 0x0000007B (0x8204DD90, 0x00000000,0x00000000)<br/>INACCESSIBLE BOOT DRIVE. I understand that I might have viruse, from ther I do not know what to do, I do not have a windows cd to run, and I cannot even use the notebook in safe mode, and know nothing about hard drive replacement . Then I would find a geeky friend who could replace that hard drive and get that installed.<br/><br/>I don't think those other products will help at all. I think you have a hardware problem that needs to be fixed first.<br/><br/>There are computer shops that can do this if you don't know anyone up to the task.<br/><br/>Sometimes bargains are not bargains. A new low end laptop can be had for $500. A new one from Dell not much more. You get a warranty and some support.<br/><br/>The Windows 2000 CD can be used for the install of XP or possibly it can be installed on that machine, depending on what it says on it.Thank you all so much, the note book is on it's way back to the seller, and I am headed out to get the proper back up stuff I need to take care of all of our notebooks mine says that it is already in my notebook, but I have backed it up on dvds.<br/>Again thank you.<br/>Miss7Marie</p></body></html> | |
