Solve : Reinstall XP after formatting HD?

Answer» <html><body><p>I had a virus in the boot sector. I tried to reinstall xp but got a 0x0...7b blue screen after drivers were loaded and setup was about to begin. I used a boot <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/utility-772057" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about UTILITY">UTILITY</a> and <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/formatted-7300131" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about FORMATTED">FORMATTED</a> the entire drive. Now, I still get the blue screen at the same place. Do I need to write a new boot sector from a boot disc somehow?<br/><br/>Thanks.Boot Sector Viruses are very rare. But if indeed you did have one you are <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/best-390038" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about BEST">BEST</a> off doing a <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/low-244163" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about LOW">LOW</a> LEVEL format, then reinstalling the OS. Having said that, if the drive is a SATA drive you need to install the SATA driver before the actual <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/installation-16361" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about INSTALLATION">INSTALLATION</a> routine can begin. You'll see the option to press F6 to load those drivers right after you boot to the XP Cd.</p></body></html>
