Solve : Removing Windows XP?

If that was the <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/case-240222" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about CASE">CASE</a>, then, when you boot the computer, you will get a list of operating systems to choose from. It might be that Windows XP will be the default on that list, if so then Windows XP will still start up by itself even if you have installed Windows 2000.<br/><br/>Do the following.<br/><br/>1) At the boot menu, select Windows 2000.<br/><br/>2) Open "System Properties", choose "Advanced" and "Startup and recovery". Set "Default operating system" to "Windows 2000".<br/><br/>3) Edit the file C:\boot.ini and remove all references to Windows XP. (Be careful here, if you remove too much you might not be able to boot up at all.)<br/><br/>4) Delete the directory containing Windows XP.<br/><br/>5) Reboot, and Windows XP will be gone.<br/><br/>If you had some documents and data stored in the My Documents folder under Windows XP, you will not find these again in the My Documents folder in Windows 2000. These will reside in the folder belonging to the user account that was being used under Windows XP (i.e. in the Documents and Settings folder).
