Solve : Sandisc not recogized on older computer?

Answer»

Was trying to copy the hard drive from my old computer which has 98 and it doesn't recognize the flash drive when inserted or when rebooted. My newer computer which I have used the flash drive on has XP.I googled my problem which suggested formatting (which I did). I'm still searching for a solution before trying it. My older computer hasn't a power cord or keyboard, hence having to transfer them from this one.Win98 requires drivers for every brand of flash drive you use. GET them from SanDisk.
http://www.sandisk.com/sandisk-support/driver-download-wizardThanks for the RESPONSE. I had been browsing the web and ran across the information that 98SE won't recognize the newer 2.0 flash drives, they use 1.1. They can still be purchased but now I'm rethinking moving the hard drive to my new computer. I'm hoping there won't be any problems with 98SE being on it. My other computer uses XP. I guess I could uninstall it if there are any.

http://forums.techguy.org/earlier-versions-windows/913429-windows-98-se-flash-drive.htmlThe sandisk cruzer(something like that) will work. My old computer was win98 first edition & I used one on it. Got the drivers from sandisk for 98se & force loaded them as the installer said it wasn't compatable. Don't remember where I found the INSTRUCTIONS, but it was a google search.Windows 98 Generic Mass storage drivers.

I've had no trouble accessing any of my flash drives (various brands, Sandisk Cruzer, SanDisk Cruzer Micro, and SanDisk Cruzer Mini, Kingston Datatravellers, Memorex TravelDrive, as well as a few EXTERNAL Hard drives as well. (although win98 couldn't recognize the NTFS until I installed appropriate programs/drivers for that as well).Sandisk Cruzer has an ISSUE with one particular model: SDCZ6-xxxx.
Sandisk supplied drives do not work, 3rd party drivers do work.
It's on the link that BC_P provided. File is: "nusb33e.exe"
