ive looked everywhere trying to figure this out.. but nothing matches my situation.. i dont recall installing or downloading anything.. i was simply on the computer shopping for cars and LATER when i CAME back to it the failure to intalize message or whatever popped up... Internet explorer works, but firefox and quicktime and dell video chat and ad-aware and who knows what else doesnt.. I just got this laptop for CHRISTMAS and havnt done anything with it really.. Its a dell studio laptop with windows vista.. please please help me. thank you.TRY performing a System Restore to a few days before all this began.

Also, do you still have the warranty papers or the RECEIPT? (just in case)i did a system restore  but it didnt change the problem any.. i uninstalled and reinstalled firefox but the problem came back.. any thing else i can try cuz this is rediculous for owning the computer for like 2 weeks.Warranty...exercise it.
