Solve : About to take a hammer to my computer?

Answer»

I am about to take a hammer to my computer to fix it.  I got a hacked software on my computer and I was advised to down LOAD Ad-aware to clean the system. I did this and it seems to have worked, but when the computer came back up all I got was the Welcome page and it wanted a password. I don't use a password and never have. so I called Dell and they told me to go on line and I would find AWAY around this and I did. But I couldn't get the re-installation CD Microsoft Windows XP Home
Edition Service pack 2 to reboot and I don't seem to have anything else for Windows XP home edition. I was playing around and hit the F2 button and it let me set a password, so I did. But now I can't get the keyboard to take any letter or number strokes, so I can't enter my password.  Any IDEAS before I get the hammer out??? I CONTACTED Ad-Aware and they told me to go in under the safe mode and set a password which I had already done. I think I just need to get the keyboard running to be back on the computer. I usually use a Dell wireless keyboard and mouse, but I even tried an old Dell plugging with no LUCK. I'm at the end of my wits and have been working on this for 3 days. I'm not sure if I should the hammer on myself or the computer.Okay, I some how got passed the black screen asking for a password and turned the password off. Now I'm stuck at Welcome Administrator and still can't get machine to reboot from Re-installation CD Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2. Any suggestions? Quote

How exactly do you proceed? Thanks for the help. I finally got the machine to reboot. Of course now I have rebooted 3 times, because when I turn it off it comes up with a black screen, but hopefully this morning it will run right.  Thanks!Keep us posted
