Answer» I just bought a new MP3 player today.
Its made by "Coby" aka "The Ghetto Sony."
Its actually pretty nice.
I'm running a Windows XP SP2 and it detected the driver and installed it as a "MTP Player."
The thing is, I'd PREFER it to work as a Removeable Disc (E: drive for me).
There's a driver included on the installation CD intended for Windows 98.
Would this still work on my XP? Is there any other way to change the settings so it would FUNCTION as a Removeable Disc?
If I can use the included setup, I'd LIKE some help....
.....Because whenever I click on a file on the CD to open it, it says more or less, "cannot open this file, you may not have permission to view it."
The REASON I'd like to have my MP3 player work as a disc instead of a "MTP player" (whatever that is) is because it can play videos under the .smp format. Only none of my media players recognize this type of file, so in order to add video, I'd have to use it as a removeable disk, no?
Or is there some sort of software that understands the .smp format??
Please help me!! I'd really like to add a couple of music videos to my new media player!
Thanks in advance for your replies.as far as i know, you dont need that cd,what for?what's in it?didn't your mp3 player recognize as removeable disc on that xp pc? you only used that disc when you plug your mp3 into a windows 98..so the 98 can install the driver.Quote from: kuszmania9999 on September 02, 2007, 12:26:31 AM as far as i know, you dont need that cd,what for?what's in it?didn't your mp3 player recognize as removeable disc on that xp pc? you only used that disc when you plug your mp3 into a windows 98..so the 98 can install the driver.
