Answer» While in Systems Configuration Utility, While in Systems Configuration Utility, I'm having a little trouble understanding your highlighted statement, above. As i READ it...you are the only user of the computer, HOWEVER, there are two users accounts at login. If you can't disable Prevx1 with one account...try the other account. If you're not going to use this malware software at all, then go to your Control Panel/Add REMOVE Programs and uninstall it. Just a suggestion... Savior, I can not recall exactly why I had chosen, to list another user, the options I believe included a guest, which would have been a third party. In any case I do not use the second user, however, if I'm not mistaken Prevx 1 is probably INSTALLED on both which may be the reason it did not disable, my intentions were not to uninstall it, but to disable as a prep for installing SP2. I'll look into this, . .thanks. Jp Is there an advantage to close the second user ? If so How would I do that ? :-/ I have a feeling that when it comes to disabeling certain files I'm going to run into a problem, i.e., denied access for one because the other is running. JpActually, if the second user is the Guest account, you can simply go in to your Control Panel/User Accounts and click the Guest account to turn it on or off. If you're the only one that uses this computer, then why have a second user at all. If you're updating to Windows SP2, then instead of using the Configuration utility to disable Prevx1, disable it through its own control panel. Then try the SP2 download and install. You can also uninstall the program if you wish, do the SP2 update and then reinstall the program...if you have your license key. I would check Prevx1 Support, first, to see if there are any known conflicts with Windows SP2. |
