I couldn't get to the windows at all after a suspected virus infection to my computer, or motherboard damaged, blue screen appeared everytime when i tried to reinstall my windows XP, and i decided to take out the hardisk and try to save my documents inside which is very important to me, photos, and documents, SONGS, and i plugged it to an EXTERNAL hardisk instead and connect it to another computer which is running Vista.....i could access to the Windows.old folder, but everytime i tried to open any files, it tells me i needed permission for it, and i did set permission for some of the files, but not all, especially photos, not a single photos are able to "unlocked" it from Vista....those are my graduation photos, i can't lost it.....what should i do? i already cut and PASTE to another computer, it seems useless....my previous Windows XP is protecting the files from opening it from Vista.....however, i could get some other files, like mp3 files, document paste and successfuly restore it in vista, but not photos....jpg format....what should i do....i can't get a single photo back from windows.old in my vista computer....and i tried another computer which is on Windows XP, 2000, access denied....i couldn't even get into SAFE mood in windows XP.....please help.Take Ownershipi'll make it short......how to restore my documents(windowsXP) from Windows.old folder to another computer running on Vista? i am not USING the same computer now, i had to take out the hardisk from the computer, and plugged it into an external hardisk and connect it to a vista computer, i want to backup all my files in my hardisk which was running on XP.....Clik the link...thank you patio....it WORKS...and helped me a lot...
