What Windows XP do you have? Windows XP Service Pack 3?http://www.pcperformancetools.com/recover-lost-files-email-data-pictures.htm?gclid=CJ_m7uHct5MCFSUqagod92IaCg You might take a LOOK at the above link and see if that is something like what you are looking to accomplish. Don't let the Free download fool you. If you download and decide to use it will cost you.

I would suggest supplying the info requested and waiting until some of the very smart people like Broni, Patio, or one of the other Mentor types drop by.Quote from: cryhelp on May 21, 2008, 08:00:31 AM

Where am I?

I think we should wait and see what happened to his Hard Drive. By 'refreshed' he could be meaning 'formatted'.
Nice program by the way, though there are many file recovery software available on the net. Where am I? Top of list. Yes I agree on waiting. Thats why I suggested on supplying the requested info and waiting.
Thanks for the quick response. I am some what of a dummy when it comes to computers. But I think is was not to refresh but to reformat. Taking old junk off and all. But I want to explore the old information, emails, pictures, etc. So can I recover any of it? If so how? Also I was wrong about what I have.....Dell computer with microsoft windows xp. I sure hope you can help me. Also one more thing. We had two people (users) on our computer at one time. The other person has deleted their user name, how do I recover that as well? Doing a whole lot of snooping hope you can help...this is my computer but investigating those who have used it in the past.... If you formatted and re-installed Windows unfortunately all your data is gone...unless you want to take it to a data recovery SPECIALIST which you'll need deep pockets for...
Sorry
Thanks for all the answers.....so I guess it looks as if I've lost everything ha..

You can CONNECT the formatted laptop into another computer and perhaps recover some data with some recovery programs but the CHANCES of finding any intact file are very slim.
