I have just taken a drive from and older computer of mine (which had WINDOWS crash on it) and connected it to my other computer to copy data off. Now I can access most of the data, but I cannot work out how to get permissions to access files in the My Documents section - though I have worked out how to open the folders.
The older drive is (or rather was) running windows xp, the new computer is running windows vista
any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated

Glad to hear you solved it.I'm trying to solve the exact same problem. Not just for My Documents, I'm also trying to move my music LIBRARY to my new computer.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
