You can try System Restore.
If that doesn't work, Windows repair installation: http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

is there a way to correct active x issues without purchasing a program? I did a free scan and it did find some issues. Quote

Choose the BIG GREEN BUTTON

Like I said, nothing comes up to download, no big green button. Nothing seems to work and there are buttons on pages that I cant even use like a send button or compose button on email. Wouild active x issues cause this?

Log on to another computer with INTERNET CONNECTION (if not at home, at an Internet cafe) and download the Firefox setup FILE to a USB drive. Plug the USB drive into the computer with problems and run the setup file.

Hope this works.

it was a free scan, xperrors.com. It did a scan on my system and came up with errors, but it said to fix them youd have to purchase the program, im not very TRUSTING of these programs though.

the errors were active x relatedNEVER use unknown scans like that. I can't even locate any xperrors.com to check what it is.
Did you try Windows repair?
