Answer» Hi
When I start my COMPUTER it comes up with a BLACK screen saying:
Administrator: X:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Windows\Sysytem32\cmd.exe
Yes this topic has been discussed before but the problem wasn't resolved in that thread.
I tried to install Windows 7 because the computer wouldn't allow me to restore to factory settings. When I tried that the blue screen of death kept appearing.
I tried to reinstall the Windows 7 upgrade. The Windows 7 upgrade failed every time I tried to install it. Then that's when the black screen started appearing.
My computer was originally installed with Vista. The version is 6.1.7600.
I appreciate any and all help.
Thanks. MikeYou have mentioned of Windows 7 upgrade from Windows Vista without the edition provided. There is a PATH to this upgrade found here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/Windows7/help/upgrading-from-windows-vista-to-windows-7?T1=tab02Sorry about that. It's the Home Premium edition.I also forgot to mention that I did make recovery disks. What was the bluescreen message when trying to install or use the recovery partition? Did you happen to check the HARD drive health STATUS first?
