Answer» im trying to get into my study books and keeps telling me the adobe acrobat/reader that is running can not be used to view pdf files in web browser.adobe acrobat/reader version 8 or 9 are required. i have adobe reader 9 on my desktop what else can i do FIRST, let's be clear on exactly what is required to read those PDF versions of books. Is it Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader? They are not the same thing. Adobe Acrobat is used to create PDF documents and it is not free. Adobe Reader is a PDF reader that free to all USERS. I have been so lazy as to neglect installing adobe reader for the period of time I have used my computer.
