Answer» OS: Windows XP, service pack 3 Motherboard: Asus K8V SE Deluxe Hard Drive Type: SATA connection (No IDE drive were used) DVD Type: Memorex DVD-CD-ROM drive
1) I went into the BIOS and make sure that the PC boot up from the hard drive. 2) Once the PC is up and running, I installed a software on a CD-ROM. 3) After installation, I removed the CD-ROM and reboot. When boot up the computer won 't boot up from the hard drive, but expecting to boot up from a CD-ROM. I had to do CONTROL-ALT-DELETE and then it will boot up from the hard drive.
In short: It does not matter which software I installed. After the software installation, the first reboot does not work, so I had to reboot the second time before the PC will boot up properly.
Alternatively, after the software installation is done, I could turned off the computer and then turn it back on and then it will boot up from the hard drive. What software ? System MECHANIC 6.0 Fix-it Utilities 7.0 Nero K8V SE Deluxe Mother board driver and any other software.
Also, If I were to put in a CD-ROM into the Memorex drive just to LOOK at the content of it the PC would not boot it up correctly when I reboot.

While these softwares define themselves as bloatware/crapware cleaners, they are however the mother of trouble makers when it comes to OPTIMIZING your PC performance. The BOOTING problem might have COME after installing these registry cleaners which requires you to scan and reboot.
