Quote You Could always make Seperate User accounts for you and your friend and password yours, Or put a Guest Account on and password yours. yeah i know about that one ,but i realy need some softwares that would SAVE files with passwords and only one that knows that passwords would access those files,i have programs that my friends need to use and if they dont have administrator access then they cant use them . so i STILL look for such softwares ,thanks though for trying to HELP .A lot of folks posting on this forum have been permanently locked out of their precious files with such software. Not just because they "forgot" the password either. Just be advised! Quote A lot of folks posting on this forum have been permanently locked out of their precious files with such software. Not just because they "forgot" the password either. Just be advised! thanks man ,but i still want such softwares ,if u have them plz LET me know ,thanks .Zip them up & password protect them with winzip After they're zipped, delete the originals.I have a better solution. http://axcrypt.axantum.com/ or http://www.truecrypt.org/To the Danger Zone ! !Is your hard drive formatted NTFS? If so, I believe you could create an encrypted folder for your files. Then, create other administrative accounts for other users. That should give them access to all programs but not to the files you put in your encrypted folder under your account. An encrypted folder can only be accessed via the user account in which it was created; even other adminstrative accounts can not acess it.Just a caveat (beyond the usual encryption caveats) MS's encryption on NTFS filesystems is known to be reversible relatively easily. I.e. it's not secure. On the other hand, if you forget your pass phrase, you have a better chance of getting your stuff back... |
