i don't even have the energy to explain this whole thing. essentially i built a new pc, tried to reinstall zune software, didn't work and have been in *censored* on earth ever since. i can't tell you how many things i've done to try to fix this problem to no avail. if any of you out there are experiencing this same problem or have in the past and have any helpful suggestions i would love to hear them. sad thing is i probably already have over at answers.microsoft.com and tried each ONE 20 times and none fixed the problem. SERIOUSLY. if there is any budding computer enthusiasts out there who are looking to hone their skills, particularly in the windows fields, then this is your white whale. Quick question .....

Do you get an error message when you try to INSTALL the software? What happens exactly?

Have you tried right clicking the setup file and run as administrator?yep. first it was the "you already have the latest version of zune installed". after a install cleanup it has been "error code 00087643" or something like that. says it failed to install and had to quit. i just tried earlier to run as admin and didn't work. i seriously have done 10 different things to get it to install and didn't work. was on the live chat with microsoft for 2 HOURS and after trying to make me do everything i explained in the opening statement that i already did he said that i would have to reformat windows 7 and reinstall. no way is that going to work so that's not an option. you have any thoughts? you need more specific info i'll be glad to give itWhat version of 7 is installed ? ?ultimate 64-bit
Install the XP compatibility mode...Here...

Then re-install Zuneman i got excited when you gave me a solution that no one has mentioned. UNFORTUNATELY it didn't work. clicked on the link and downloaded the XP mode and virtual pc. went through the setup process and everything loaded correctly. tried to download zune from both microsoft's and zune's website and neither worked. so unless i'm supposed to be doing something different in regards to the xp mode then i'm back to square one.Finally found the solution. here's the link
