Solve : Appearance settings not remaining after reboot - please help!?

Answer»

Dear Sirs

My Windows appearance settings to not appear to be remaining after a reboot.

I change the settings by performing the following:

Control Panel > Display Properties > Appearance > (Change drop-down menu to 'CLASSIC Windows Style') > 'Ok'.

But when I restart the COMPANY again later that same day, the Windows style has always reverted to the default blue look.

What is going wrong? PLEASE help! Thank you. What Operating System are we dealing with?

Has this always been LIKE this?

Are you on an Administrator account, or part of a network?Thank you for your reply, and for the additional information which I should have previously included.

The system is a fresh installation of XP SP3.

I am Administrator, which is the only account currently setup.

As I have only just installed the system, it has consistently been this way since its inception.

What do you THINK might be the cause? Is there save changes setting or something? I don't know. i'll let the pros help you. Logically, it should work. In fact, I have Classic Mode enabled on this computer right now.

Anyways, you said this:

I assume you meant you restarted the computer?Yes, I restarted the computer! Exactly! *blush*

I don't know why it's not working.

Would it suggest a problem with my Windows installation?
