Answer» I keep getting the error "Application Not Found" when I try to run anything and when I try to open something as simple as the Add/Remove Hardware Program. The bad news is, I bought this computer at a pawn shop and do not have the start up disk or any other disks for that matter, I can not afford to take to a shop and I just need to know if there is any way at all possible to fix it myself?! Thanks.More info on the machine and what FLAVOR of Windows it is.......It is a hp pavilion F1703. I'm pretty sure it is Windows XP. Some problems are associated with malware and I think a full scan with your AV program, fully updated, would be a good start-point. To startup in Safe Mode please read this article. Select Safe Mode option when the boot menu appears. To get to the Command Prompt use Start>Run type CMD in the dialog box and click OK. To exit from the Command Prompt type EXIT then hit Enter.
