Solve : archiving huge files?

Answer»

Hi again

I've been thinking of archiving my big FILES. I'm talking about 5G size of files. They are back up files. I don't want to lose them. I've been doing google search on what's the best PRODUCT offered in the market? but couldn't find any in particular. I was wondering if you could give me some advices or recommendation.

Thank you in advanceYou want to try one of those upload sites like http://www.streamload.com to pay for there service. Or you can get those tapes that you can store. It is like a Video Casette. It is so cool. but it is not good unless you have tons of things to store on it. That is why I would recomend an Online site if you do not mind paying a small fee.Thank you windows98,

hmmm... ok, that's great. But i wonder if you know there are some zippers that is able to zip a file that is of 5G size to a smaller size. If you use the normal zip that comes with windows Xp, it takes ages to zip them. That makes sense because dealing with huge file here. But if there is a tool out there, that'd be fantastic.

Thank you in advanceI do not think you can compress a 5gb file to a few megabytes it is impossible. The only thing to do is burn them to a CD using backup and break them into pieces. 5GB is ALOT. Are you backing up your whole hard drive?General back up devices. Look up which suits you.

Are these drive images or just backups? Can you burn them to DVD with standard compression?

Is there anything helpful on this link...
