Answer» I have Windows 7 on my HP pavilion entertainment LAPTOP p.c. Recently the up, down, left, and right arrow keys stopped working, or when they do work, they switch only from top directly to bottom of the screen or VICE versa. The keypad has stopped working as well. Numbers can't be entered, direction keys won't work when num lock is off, a general meltdown for navigation. Only the touch pad will work. When I reboot the COMPUTER now, it doesn't go directly to my password login screen. Instead it asks me to press f5 or f6 before it will load windows. Any ideas why this happened? And how I COULD re-enable my arrow keys and keypad?What happened before the problem? Any error messages? Have you tried an external USB keyboard.
