Answer» My problem is this:
Upon starting up Windows XP Professional, the PC Monitor will not display anything after showing the Win XP loading bar screen. It is as though the Monitor has switched off, but is still recieving a signal from the base unit, as is indicated from the LED.
It is evident that Windows is still loading up due to the PRESENCE of audio and the ABILITY to shutdown using keys, but there is no visual display. Safe Mode is operational which indicates that there is no problem with the monitor itself.
ASSUMING it was a result of a driver problem or virus (despite having Norton) the PC was reformatted YESTERDAY. Despite working perfectly for several hours, this problem has returned.
Any advice would be extremely gratefully received. AdamHas someone turned the monitor...........display settings?/is this a laptop..chck serial cable pins...have you changed graphics card/video card...>>>>one day the terminollogy maybe altered....i await..thisNo, all of that has been covered. The monitor itself is fine, as it is working perfectly in safe mode and has been tried on another PC.
Is it possible that this is a hardware problem? I find this unlikely due to the fact that during formatting the monitor was fully operational. Thanks for the reply Adcheck the graphics card......ports.......for seating.

Not necessarily. During formatting and installation, monitor is set to default VGA resolution, 640x480 60Hz. On boot-up hit F8 and select VGA resolution for Normal Mode. Once in Windows, try and CHANGE it. That sorted it mate, superb. Thanks very much for the help.
