Answer» PC recently attacked by a mimic virus. Seemed successful in cleaning it and turned PC off. At first boot since shutdown, it arrives at the log in screen showing the only user account we have setup (which is not the usually way it boots, it usually just loads and goes straight to desktop) When I click the account to log on, it ACTS as if it is going in and then kinda BLINKS quickly and says logging off. I have tried all safemodes, bios area and reset to default settings..REPAIR xp with discs...I'm at a lost. Thanks to anyone with any ideas. AngelIt doesn't boot in Safe Mode?i am having the same problem need help Then, you need to start your own topic.That means your userunit.sys in system32 folder in WINDOWS,has been corrupted or missing. Run setup and press R to repair in commandpromp,copy new userunit.sys in folder from cd. That should work.
