Answer» Ok, so here are my system specs:
I have an Emachines, model #D3107 with recently installed 2G of ram(400Mhz) (2 1G sticks). I have a Sapphire Radeon HD 3650 512MB DDR2 memory VIDEO card that has also recently been installed. My mainboard manufacturer is MSI, model # MS-7142. I have an AMD Sempron 3100 processor (1.8Ghz)(1600Mhz). The video card before the upgrade was onboard S3 Unicrome Pro Integrated Graphics 64MB DDR shared, comes with an AGP slot for upgrading. Chipset is VIA K8M800.
Everything seems to be running fine until I OPEN any 3D gaming application, at which point, in most cases 5 minutes into running the app, my graphics accellerator resets and I get an ATI VPU recover error message.
I have tried updating my chipset drivers, video card drivers, checked to make sure my operating system is doing regular automatic updates, which it is, and I have even gone so far as to make sure all drivers my computer could possibly use (that I could think of) are current, and I am still having this problem. The only thing I haven't done is attempt to update my BIOS because I am extremely unfamiliar with this area other than to know that to mess up even a little bit can result in system failure. I have run a memory test to insure that the new ram is operating properly, and it is.
I am at a loss. PLEASE help me solve this issue. Thank you in advance. after you left chat I did sime RESEARCH and found a forum with some answers and fixes
so the new card will prolly do the same error...here is the info read it
