Solve : audio devices?

Answer»

Hi everyone,i have just OBTAINED a computer with windows vista.I like to record music including voice but i do not know how to find my settings for sterio mix and wave and microphone settings (etc) the audio i have on this computer is realtek high def. Please someone help me with this thank you whoever reads this for your valuable time.Alan.There should be a speaker icon in the system tray (bottom right corner) of your pc. Right-click on that and you'll see options for "Open Volume Mixer", "Playback Devices", "Recording Devices" and "Sounds".  I think that's what you're looking for.

If you don't see the speaker icon in the system tray, then your sound card is not setup or your SPEAKERS are not plugged in - you need to take care of those first.I have found the devices by clicking speaker at bottom right but i still cant OBTAIN sterio mix or microphone wave etc. I need sterio mix in order to play music in the music rooms.Try this...  When you right-click on the speaker, select "Playback Devices".  The window that comes up should show your speakers. Click on them and then click on the "Properties" button NEAR the bottom.  The new windows has a tab called "Levels".  That includes the balance. There are also SEVERAL other tabs.

I'm not an audio expert, but I did the above on my Vista PC. I don't have a microphone hooked up, but it looks like the same for "Recording Devices"
