Answer» I'm having trouble deleting an autorun.inf file from my external hard DRIVE. I've tried removing all attributes through the CL, but when I try to delete it I keep getting the message: "access denied".Have you tried Taking Ownership of the file? SEE here.
Good luck. Many infections use this LOOPHOLE...what protection apps do you have ? ?I managed to delete the autorun.inf file.
For a long time I've been thinking about running linux on my machine. Yesterday was the day I burned Ubuntu 11.10 to a cd, because I've been reading that you can run it by booting from the cd to experience the look and feel of Ubuntu. While browsing with Ubuntu's file manager, I thought I'd pay a visist to that nasty autorun.inf file. RIGHT click > Move to trash, and me is happy.
Thanks for your efforts to help me Best to keep an eye out for it...they're designed to replicate.
