Solve : Backing it up?

Answer»

Hi.  Im about to reformat my computer w/ a brand new Windows XP.  BUUUUT before I do, I want to know if there is an easy way to reload & reinstall all of my

-applications?
-documents?
-data?

To be clear: I know how to save info on my external drives, or removable media.  That is not what I want to do.  I want to know if there is a piece of software which looks at my existing C: and makes some kinda super file, which I can load and Double-click, after installing my new XP- and *presto ! its as if I never CHANGED systems!!

any input would be much appreciated  : )If I understand you correctly...you want a program that will image your CURRENT hard drive so you can restore it at a later time.

Noeton's Ghost 10 may be something you'd want to take a look at.

Simply visit www.symantec.comthanks saviour.  I figured NOrton ghost could make an image file for just this purpose, but I wonder if you, or anyone else, know anything a little.. free-er?  Here ya go:

or try this...

Hope this helps...and good luck.If i understand correctly you are GOING to do a clean install of XP right ? ?

Just so you know an imaging program is going to take an image of your complete HDD as is when you create the image.
It will not re-install all your stuff into a new XP install...it will overwrite it and restore your machine to exactly where it was when you IMAGED it.

There is no program that can take all your installed programs and current data and merge them into a clean install.

But i keep HOPING.
