Solve : backing up files on a CD?

Answer»

Hi
I am having trouble backing up my files to a CD-RW. I haven’t had this problem in the past. I would really appreciate any help you can give me. Here are the steps I followed before:

Put CD-RW in CD drive
Go to my computer
Press folder in the upper taskbar
Then on the right find what you want to BACK up
Then on the left, click with mouse and drag it to the drive E on the left
Then press the balloon at the bottom of taskbar
Then on the left click on WRITE THESE FILES TO CD.
When the back up is finished the CD with eject from the E drive.
The end

It was working so well. But now, when I try to follow these steps I get the following message:

E:\is not accessible
Incorrect function

I tried putting a music CD in E drive and it plays PERFECTLY. I have a small business and I really need to back up these files. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Kathy
 When did this problem start?
What happened immediately prior to the problem?
Specs for the PC?
Specs for the CD-RW drive?
If the files are important use a cd-r.

Anyway, I had this problem recently and try right click and "Erase all files on cd" or similar and then try to write the files again.Sorry I use Windows XP and the drive is a DVD drive. I really don't know what happened and I am a computer dummy so be patient with me

We'd be able to tell you more if you answered the questions. specs means all the information (processor, Motherboard, HD, OS, etc) on your computer. Is there a place on my computer when I can get all the information you are asking, I mean the specs. Sorry if I don't get all this stuff, but yes I know where the contol panel is lol.
KathyO.K I searched and found a few things about my computer:

Synergio Manufacturing LTD
Touch System Intel (R)
Pentium (R) 4   CPU 2.66 GHz
224 MB of RAM

Let me know if you need anything else

The problem only started this week.
I can't think of anything that happened prior to the problem
The Drive is Lite0on combo LTC-48161H DVD/CD-ROM Drive

I hope this is what you wanted.

It's POSSIBLE that accidently XP's BURNING capabilities got switched off ...i'm not at my XP MACHINE right now ...maybe someone else knows where it is.
