For about a couple of weeks now just behind the right side of my task bar I get pop up messages. The one showing now is Install java runtime environment (JRE) 7u137.0.130.20. Then it gives me different choices of when to install it -one hour, two hours,never, etc. I always chose never but it comes back anyway. This message also appears for avast and a few others which I do not recall now.

I have no idea why I am getting them. I check for viruses every other day and for malware every day and none is found.

just see this - If you don't want to update or receive any notification, go to Control Panel - Programs - Java - Update tab and uncheck the box Check for updates automatically or go to Advanced tab to adjust notify settings. However, it is always recommended to update browsers, plug-ins and Java to the latest version.

They are all updated except for avast and it does not show as being installed but it is hiding somewhere as I cannot get rid of it. have tried avast uninstaller but does no good.
