Answer» :-/ When i turn off my computer the last thing i see is a big blue screen that reads. A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to avoid damage to your computer. It says that there is a problem with new hardware/software not being installed properly. It advises me to disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. :-/ No idea, I have searched the device manager to try and uninstal a philips hdd065/05 portable player that did not work properly when CONNECTED to my system and think this MAY be the cause of the error.I did disable it but still get the big blue screen when i turn off my computer. Question is how can i uninstall it I do get a new icon in my control panel for a portable device but when i click on it there is nothing there. My system is windows xp service pack 2. any more than that i will have to find out on request. HELLLLLLLLLLLLP.That is kind of what is happening to me . It's called the BSOD or Blue Screen of Death. Could you post what the error message that COMES along with the BSOD so that I or someone else may assist you further. To see what I mean by error just read my thread it says, "BSOD keeps crashing computer somebody help plz...".Did you add any new hardware, such as a new video card or DVD drive? If so, try removing it and seeing if the Stop error stops. If it does, the problem might lie with the drivers you installed for the device using the Windows Found New Hardware wizard. It may also be a buggy Windows XP installation, faulty drivers?Have you been in the BIOS foolin around and testing new things ? ?The warning that comes up on the BSOD reads DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE. No i have not done anything with the BIOS It just started happening The only thing i have tried so far is to check all the drivers from the device manager the only one that says it is failing is the MTP device under the heading of portable devices it says it has an error code 10 :-/
One thing i should mention in case it is important is when i disconected the portable music player i forgot to click on the safly remove hardware icon by MISTAKE could this have any bearing on the problem.

Yes you are correct this is important info...
With this device removed from the system go to Control Panel/Hardware/Device Manager and find this device...right click it and select remove. Then go to add/remove programs and un-install any programs that were installed with the device.
Do a few re-boots of the machine and shut down. Plug the device back in and power up. When it shows installing new device and asks for the drivers point it in the right direction and or insert the driver CD...Thanks for the info. I have been into device manager removed the device. I have uninstalled the only programe that i could find which was a philips musicmatch jukebox programe. I did not get any hardware instalation DISC with the player. so i can not complete the process, The player just seemed to install itself when i first connected it.i dont know if that is possible (still in the computer greenhorn stage) :-? I am a bit scared of uninstalling some important piece and totally screwing it up. Will keep trying though. will post the results as they come in. Thanks.
