Solve : Bin File missing??

Answer»

Gday.
Once again this Aussie IT illiterate is in trouble.  Running Vista Premium, 1 gig dual core processor,  desktop.
Have been using
AVG free antivirus, automatic updates, PUT out by Grisoft for personal use only.
Suddenly it has jacked up on me and WONT download updates, and puts up a message.......Bin File missing- LINK Scanner disabled.  This is all double dutch to me.(I am an IT moron) Is there a simple solution, or do I unplug it and take it my guru 50 km away? If there is a solution, please keep it simple,  :-)
Cheers

What updates?

Sorry, I did a search and it appears to be AVG.

I found this:
http://forums.techguy.org/general-security/740731-avg-problem.htmlThank you all. I must admit I have done irreparable damage do my brain cells trying to follow the instructions , but with the help of all I think I have cured it. Any how it doesnt now have that nasty cross across the icon. APPARENTLY it was trying to download a spurious file.  A chap on "techguy" forum located and put out a solution to download the update without that file and it stopped whingeing
Thanks again. All right. As long as you got it working.  One more reason, we don't RECOMMEND AVG on this board anymore.
