when i insert a NEW blank DVD-r and i press burn ( NERO - or alchool 120% or even the drag and drop of windows in my computer) i get error saying please insert a blank disc there is no disc in burner.

I SEE many forums open about this and no one seems to know how to fix it.

i have a good pc RUNNING fine . and i just found out about this problem its a dell dimention 8300 / with a dvd reader and a dvd rw

when i burn reg CD-r or cdrw ITS all good but when i insert a dvd disc then it says i did not insert anything ..
i have even updated the firmware of dvd-r
the bios of my Botherboard
i re installed nero and rmv alchool 120% Uninstall from device manager restart ( I HAVE TO DO IT ALL IM ABOUT TO TRY SOMETHING INCLUDING A HAMMER IN MY HAND SMASHING ON PC )
I know last time ( a few YEARS ago ) when i posted on this Site i got a ANSWER i see no other posts about this so that why i want to start it

what do you think is making this happen
would it be microsoft/ or dvd makers that did a patch to restrict dvd burning or something like that
some say it has to do with a key reg in regedit .. But im not too familliar with all teh key and functions but if you can tell me what to do i should be ok following instructions
