Solve : Blank screen on bootup? |
|
Answer» Hi, My son's PC GOT a virus, I formated the PC, Like I have done many times in the PAST, I am not new at reloading the OS. When the PC starts to boot up, so I can reload the OS, the Screen is BLACK, with a slight image of the IBM Thinkpad image. I though it was the LCD screen inverter card, so I replaced it, that was not it. I am thinking that maybe the Contrast just went to the "Dark Side" Is there any way I can fix that? It's unclear from your post whether or not you actually reinstalled the OSI have NOT installed the OS, Nothing comes up on the screen for me to follow the install steps. I can hear it starting to find the CD, and can see a faint image of the IBM-Thinkpad image, then nothingAre you certain you're BOOTING to the cd? Make sure the cd is at the top of the boot order in bios. How am I going to make any updates to the BIOS, if I have a BLACK screen. I can hear the CD ROM spin up when I turn it on. I am thinking I am getting a error message, but cant see anythingHave you considered the backlight? That can blow and give you the RESULTS you are seeing (or not seeing). A bit more involved than the inverter but still doable. |
