Answer» Sometimes when I close down I get a plain blue screen with a fatal error warning. This has been happening for nearly a year. It does not seem to affect my computer.....any ideas why and how to cure IOT? Thank you Arenado you get a stop code? like 00000000000000xC2 something of that nature. Helps in telling us if its a BSOD blue screen of death and what it is if it is one. Depending on the code will help tell us what to do.Sorry Squall My computer is a Dell Dimension3100 The blue screen message is: C000021A fatal system error /0XC0000005Navigate to: C:\Windows\Minidump folder. If you see any .dmp FILES, zip all of them, and attach zipped file to your next reply. I used to get the blue screen of death.
It was due to a new wireless USB thing i had bought to get the internet.
My advise it to try and remember what you may have bought, hardware or software wise, for the computer just before the blue screen of death appeared.
Sorry if this is no help xThat mite not be his case but. That must be a newer one, I use a book to run the code against it and it does mention what you put SINCE I dont want to memories them all.Next time you get a blue screen restart your PC and CHECK out what happened in Event Viewer.
Start>Run>Eventvwr.msc
If you double click on the SYSTEM Log, you will see the last event that possibly gave you the blue screen.
There should be errors and warnings that you can investigate to pinpoint the problem.
