Solve : Blue screen error (BSOD)?

Answer»

I was getting blue screen error with my windows XP, so I tried to repair it with XP bootable, but whenever it reaches to finalize the installation again the error reproduced. So finally I decided to format and do the fresh installation,
but for that also on finalizing STAGE it is giving same blue screen error and setup is not completing.

the error code is :
STOP Error 0x000000F4: CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION
STOP error 0xF4 means that a process or thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly exited or been terminated. STOP code 0x000000F4 may also display "CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION" on the same STOP message.

can anyone please help me out with this.

How to resolve this . Try getting a hold of a different Windows INSTALL CD and try to format again. Here is what MS says about the error. It mentions a hard disk configured as a slave and not as primary, is this a new installation on a new HDD?Quote from: milesman on November 24, 2009, 10:00:34 AM

That's an odd error to get during an install. Are you BOOTING to the XP CD and formatting first? You can try to delete and then recreate the system partition and try again.Actually I have formatted my HDD few days back and created new partions on it. And after that I have installed XP on it.
It worked fine for 2 days and then suddenly this blue error occured and after a day it was very frequent.

Do I have to update my BIOS?

Because after googling I found the blue screen issue is mostly because of drivers or new software or hardware installed. but i have not done anything like that no new installation.
Anyways thanks for your replies, I will implement the said solutions and LET you know further.

Thanks If there IS a bios upgrade then yes, do it.Thank you all the issue is resolved.

The disk was slave, I made it master and it worked. The XP installation is done successfully.

Thank you QUANTOS!Not a problem. Come back any time at all.
